If you’re a fan of Pokémon FireRed and looking for some extra advantages in the game, cheat codes can help you achieve that. These codes are designed to work with the original version of the game and allow you to gain many benefits such as unlimited Masterballs, rare candies, and legendary Pokémon.
To use these cheat codes, you’ll need a GameShark device and the original version of the game. However, if you’re using an emulator like Visual Boy Advance or My Boy, you’ll only need the game and the cheat code. Regardless of which device you’re using, inputting the codes to activate your preferred cheat is all that’s required. Just be aware that some codes can be quite lengthy, so it may take some time to enter them.
It’s important to note that these cheat codes are not case-sensitive, and you don’t need to leave spaces between the numbers. You can use them with both Action Replay and GameShark accessories.

How to use Pokémon Fire Red cheats with Visual Boy Advance
The GBA emulator gives you access to both the Action Replay and Gameshark codes.All you have to do is follow the Visual Boy Advance process in order to enter cheat codes:
- Activate the VBA emulator
- Click on File, followed by Open, and then select the PokémonFire Red ROM
- At the beginning of the game, click on Cheats, followed by the Cheat list
- Click on Gameshark
- Input a code and click on OK
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 in order to input all of your cheat codes as desired
- Click on OK to play your cheats-enabled game
How to use Pokémon Fire Red cheats with My Boy Emulator
If you’re using an Android MyBoy emulator, then you have to follow these steps to make use of your Gameshark/Action Replays cheats:
- Open the My Boy App and launch the Pokémon Fire Red ROM
- Click on the menu icon and launch the My Boy menu
- Go to Cheats
- Click on New Cheat
- Enter the Cheat name and input the cheat description
- Click on the Cheat code, input the code, and click on OK
- Go to the three dots you see on the screen’s top-right corner and select Save
- Click on the device’s back button to play your cheats-enabled game
It’s possible to disable or even edit cheats via the Cheats menu. To remove a cheat code, long-press your selection and then click on Remove.
How to trade Pokémon
If you like, you can trade Pokémon between Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald, Leaf Green, and Fire Red. Emerald and Leaf Green trading is enabled by default.
However, you need to visit the One Island Pokémon center in order to start trading through Sapphire and Ruby.
This will allow you to fix the network Machine. You’ll need to upgrade your Pokédex and finish the main story as well.
